Progressing the #GreeningStrategy for the North-East Inner City

Recently, I sought a further progress report on the status of individual projects being advanced by the Parks Department and the Central Area Office of Dublin City Council through the North-East Inner City Greening Strategy.

As you know, the North-East Inner City Programme Implementation Board allocated €562,000 earlier this year for works to be advanced this year. The list below specifies the steps being taken to much forward on each and the completion of same.

North-East Inner Greening Strategy Projects:

• Forth Road – Residential Tree Pits  – Overall project complete
• Wolfe Tone Park – Completed launched May 2022
• Dorset Street Phase 3,4&5  –  Contractor appointed
• Diamond Park   – Tender assessment underway
• Beresford Place Central Median Works – Complete  
• Bus Aras Triangle  – Completed
• Gloucester Place SUDS Pilot Project –Due on site Monday second week in June 
• Adopt a Tree Project – Ongoing discussions and pilot scheme underway
• East Wall Road Medians – Topographical and Ground Penetrating Radar surveys underway
• Poplar Row Central Median – Complete
• Ballybough Suicide Plot – Complete
• Sackville Place Biodiversity Garden – Complete
• Green Walls Projects – Topographical and Ground Penetrating Radar surveys underway
• Mountjoy Square  (URDF funded) – Consultations underway
• Greenville Place Greening – Complete  
• Hill Street Planning – Discussions underway
• Crosscare Centre –Work due to be carried out Autumn 2022
• Hedwardian Terrace Park- Topographical and Ground Penetrating Radar surveys underway
• Buckingham Street Feasibility – Additional 3D/visualizations to be prepared
• Clonmore Road – Concept design complete – next stage Public consultations
• Cluid Housing  – Topographical and Ground Penetrating Radar surveys underway
• Liberty Park- Topographical and Ground Penetrating Radar surveys underway
• Living Christmas Trees – Site investigations underway
