2022 Garda Recruitment campaign – Deadline looming

100 years on from the establishment of An Garda Siochana, Fine Gael in Government is ensuring that Garda numbers on our streets continue to be increased.
Budget 2022 provided for the recruitment of up to 800 new Gardaí and 400 extra Garda staff, many of whom will be recruited from the campaign underway.
The recruitment campaign concludes on Wednesday next, March 16th at 3pm. Full details of the application process can be found at www.publicjobs.ie, including a specific candidate information booklet is available there.
Successful applicants will be placed on a panel from which they are drawn by An Garda Síochána for training when required by the Garda Commissioner.
I have been privileged to work with some fantastic members of An Garda Siochana since first being elected to Dublin City Council. Those individuals have been among the best and bravest I have known. I could not recommend more a career with An Garda Siochana.
