New #SpeedSurveys planned for #OxmantownRoad

Dublin City Council, will, in the coming weeks undertake new speed surveys along Oxmantown Road in #Stoneybatter.

The purpose of these surveys is to examine vehicular speeds on following the installation of the build-outs last year as part of the agreed Oxmantown Road Traffic Improvement Scheme. Prior to these works taking place, average speeds along Oxmantown Road were found to be double the 30km/hr speed limit for the street.

As part of the public consultation and engagement that I undertook throughout 2019 and 2020, I committed, at the request of residents, to ensure that further speed surveys would take place to assess the success of the scheme in an effort to help determine what additional measures, if any, are needed to slow down traffic along Oxmantown Road.

Following the completion of the surveys and the sharing of that information with me, I will make sure to provide those details to Oxmantown Road householders with a view to seeking your feedback as to what, if any, additional measures we need to take to improve safety for all along the street.

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or queries arising from the details outlined above.
