Readymix site redevelopment – November 2020 Update

I continue to chase up the Housing Department of Dublin City Council to secure an update on plans to redevelop the former Readymix site on East Wall Road.
At this month’s meeting of the Dublin Central Area Committee, I sought clarity on the progress being made to date by the Housing Department, including an indicative timeline for the completion of preparing a Part 8 planning application that will come before Councillors for approval.
The Deputy Chief Executive and Head of the Housing Department, Brendan Kenny, reported that:
“It is proposed to develop this lands for a social housing scheme and for it to be done under the Terms of the Government’s PPP Social Housing Programme. At this stage there are no design plans or details in relation to density or height etc.”
I will continue to monitor progress of the efforts of Dublin City Council to advance the redevelopment of the former Readymix site. If you have any questions or queries on the matter, please come back to me.
