North East Inner City Public Lighting Improvement works

As part of the funding provided by our Fine Gael-led Government for the North East Inner City Project Office, Dublin City Council has completed an upgrade of public lighting in the area. These upgrade works include:

  • Painting of Lamp Standards,
  • Replacement of existing brackets,
  • Installation of lanterns with new brackets and LED luminaries.

The initial focus of this work was on North Strand Road, Amiens Street, Ballybough Road and Summerhill Parade.

To date, the City Council has completed the painting of Lamp Standards on:

  • Ballybough Road, between Poplar Row Bridge to Charlemont Mall,
  • Summerhill Parade, between Charlemont Mall and Portland Row,
  • Amiens Street, between Connolly Station and Seville Place,
  • North Strand Road, between Seville Place and Poplar Row
  • Custom House Quay,
  • Memorial Road,
  • Beresford Place.

The Council is now progressing the LED upgrades on the main arterial routes as outlined above and have identified other residential streets including:

  • Annesley Place
  • Ballybough Avenue
  • Ballybough Court
  • Beaver Street
  • Bella Street
  • Clarence Street North
  • Clonliffe Avenue
  • Clonmore Road
  • Clonmore Terrace
  • Coburg Place
  • Dunne Street
  • Emerald Place
  • Emmet Street
  • Empress Place
  • Enaville Avenue
  • First Avenue
  • Foster Terrace
  • Fourth Avenue
  • Healy Street
  • Kellys Row
  • Mariners Port
  • Nelson Street
  • North Clarence Street
  • North William Street
  • Oriel Street Upper and Oriel Street Lower
  • Poplar Row
  • Portland Court
  • Portland Place
  • Railway Street
  • Richmond Cottages
  • Richmond Place
  • Richmond Street
  • Russell Street
  • Sackville Avenue
  • St. Margaret’s Avenue
  • St. George’s Avenue
  • St. James’ Avenue
  • Sean McDermott Street
  • Second Avenue
  • Sherrard Street Lower
  • Sherrard Street Upper
  • Spring Garden Street
  • Summerhill Parade
  • Terrace Place
  • Third Avenue
  • Thompson Cottages

It is envisaged that all work on these streets will be completed before the end of this year.
