Royal Canal Greenway Phase 3 – October 2024 Update

Roadworks Update at Clarke’s Bridge, Summerhill Parade/Ballybough Road – 10th October 2024

Further to the previous update on 3rd October, commencement of roadworks on Summerhill Parade at Clarke’s Bridge has been postponed until Monday 14th October due to the work crew being delayed at Binns Bridge and the large crowds expected for the Leinster vs. Munster rugby match in Croke Park on Saturday 12th October. Night works for the road crossings will also be postponed; their revised commencement date will be provided in the coming days.

Roadworks Update at Binns Bridge, Dorset Street Lower – 10th October 2024

Work on extending the Dorset Street Lower median has just been substantially completed and the two central traffic lanes on Binns Bridge are being reopened this evening.

The second phase of road resurfacing and road marking on Binns Bridge has been confirmed for the night of Monday 14th/Tuesday 15th October, between 7:30pm and 6:00am. As per previous night works, a traffic light switch off and stop/go system will be in place on that night, with traffic reduced to one lane in each direction. A similar stop/go system will take place on the night of Monday 21st/Tuesday 22nd October (also between 7:30pm and 6:00am) to lay traffic detection loops in the road surface and to level up manhole covers in the newly resurfaced area. Anyone intending to travel through Binns Bridge during these works is advised to use an alternative route if possible, particularly if travelling to Dublin Airport. Dublin City Council apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused by these works.
