#NorthInnerCity Traffic & Works Update – April 29th

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES
Smithfield & New Church Street, Dublin 7:
• Location A: Smithfield – along square (from New Church Street to Phoenix Street) Dublin 7, from 07.00hrs to 14.00hrs on Friday 20th May 2022.
• Location B: New Church Street (Bow Street to Smithfield) Dublin 7, from 06.00hrs on Saturday 30th April 2022 to 24.00hrs on Sunday 1st May 2022.
• Closed to facilitate crane lifting operations.
Smithfield :
• Pedestrian access to be maintained at all times.
• Traffic wishing to turn left from New Church Street onto Smithfield (in south direction) will be diverted on Smithfield (in north direction)
New Church Street:
• Pedestrian access to be maintained at all times.
• Section of Friary Avenue between Friary Groove and Bow Street will be operating in 2 way shuttle system.
• Exit from Friary Groove will be controlled by flagman.
• Diversion for closed section of New Church Street will be provided via Friary Avenue (shuttle system) and onto Smithfield.
• Section of Smithfield between New Church Street and Friary Avenue will be closed with limited local access allowed.
Parnell Square North, Dublin 1:
• Closed (from Parnell Square East to Parnell Square West), Dublin 1 from 07.00hrs to 22.00hrs on Sunday 1st May 2022.
• Closed to facilitate an event for La Mor Na Gaeilge.
• Traffic on Parnell Square West will be diverted Granby Row/Mountjoy Street/Berkeley Street/Eccles Street/Temple Street and Great Denmark Street
• Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.
O’Devaney Gardens, Dublin 7:
• Closed (from North Circular Road for 145m), Dublin 7 from 00.00hrs on Monday 11th April 2022 to 24.00hrs on Monday 2nd May 2022.
• Closed to facilitate the completion of road tie-ins for the O’Devaney Gardens Housing, Project Phase 1.
• Traffic on North Circular Road wishing to travel on O’Devaney Gardens to Montpellier Gardens will be diverted via Infirmary Road.
• Traffic on Thor Place wishing to travel on O’Devaney Gardens to North Circular road will be diverted via new temporary road, Montpelier Gardens and Infirmary Road.
• Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

Custom House Quay:
Bus Lane 130 metres west from Matt Talbott Memorial Bridge
Works Involved: Fitting Frame and Cover
Date of Works: 4th May, evening.
Contractor: Colt / M&M Contractor
Dorset Street Upper:
Between Eccles Street and Frederick Street
Works Involved: Sewer relining.
Date of Works: 3rd – 5th May, 7pm – 5am.
Contractor: Irish Water / GMC Utilities.
East Wall Road:
Around Forth Road.
Works Involved: Trial Holes for New Cycle Track west bound. Monday and Tuesday daytime awaiting confirmation of ESB/Gas Supervision.
Date of Works: 29th April – 6th May.
Contractor: DCC Traffic Division / Citius.
Amiens Street:
Between Buckingham street junction and the Five Lamps junction.
Works Involved: Traffic management set up in bus lane for excavation works. Lanes altered. All 4 lanes remain open.
Date of Works: 30th April – 6th May.
Contractor: DCC Traffic Division / Clonmel Enterprises.
