New Older Person housing for #ArbourHill

In recent days, I sought a further update from officials in the Housing Department of Dublin City Council regarding plans for new homes to be built in Arbour Hill’s St. Bricin’s Park.
As a result of these efforts, I can confirm that Dublin City Council will be seeking funding approval from the Government to build 10 new homes that will be provided for applicants on the Council’s Older Person Housing List. The project is expected to cost less than €6m so I understand the cumbersome funding process will be avoided. I understand this funding application will be completed within the single stage capital approval process.
Planning permission through the form of a Part VIII planning application, whereby Councillors will be responsible for determining whether is granted or not, will be sought towards the end of this year. I have sought a commitment from the Housing Department that consultation with householders in St. Bricin’s Park will take place prior to any initiation of a Part VIII planning process. Let me assure residents that I will circulate details of this consultation process as and when that information is available to me.
