Update on plans for new Primary Care Health Centre for East Wall.

In recent weeks, East Wallers have been in touch seeking an update on Health Service Executive (HSE) plans to deliver a dedicated Primary Care Centre for the communities of East Wall and North Wall.
As a member of the Dublin North East Regional Health Forum, I took the opportunity to seek details on the progress made to date in identifying a suitable site for the delivery of a dedicated Primary Care Centre for the East Wall and North Wall districts of the North Inner City at this week’s meeting. Officials from the Estates Section of the HSE responded to my representations.
They confirmed that East Wall has been identified as a need for a Primary Care Centre. The area has been included in the HSE’s most recent national advertisement seeking expressions of interest from third parties.
Unfortunately, the process to advance the delivery of such essential community health infrastructure has been affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. Despite the continuation of the pandemic, I can confirm that the HSE Estates Section is in the process of re-engaging with interested parties.
Only when this process has been concluded, will the location of the proposed Primary Care Centre be identified.

Let me assure the communities of East Wall and North Wall, that I will continue with my campaign to secure improved and enhanced community healthcare facilities in the area. I committed, in the 2019 Local Elections, to working with the HSE to secure a commitment for a new Primary Care Centre, which has now been honoured. Now, the focus is on securing that suitable site and getting the services needed delivered and a local facility open for the people of East Wall and North Wall.
I will keep you updated of progress on the matter across the coming weeks.
