Dublin City Council Launches Team Dublin Clean‑up 2026

Get Involved and You Could Win €1,000 for Your Neighbourhood

Dublin City Council today announced the return of the 9th Annual Team Dublin Clean-Up, taking place on Saturday, 18 April 2026, from 11am to 1pm. This year’s initiative was officially launched at Central Model School, Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, a designated Green School in recognition of its strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Speaking at the launch, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Ray McAdam, encouraged communities across the city to take part, saying, “Team Dublin Clean-up captures the very best of our city. Every year, communities across Dublin roll up their sleeves and take pride in the streets, parks and neighbourhoods they call home. As Lord Mayor, I encourage residents, schools, community groups and businesses right across the city to get involved on April 18. When Dubliners come together with that shared sense of responsibility and pride, we show that small local actions can make a big difference to our capital.”

The Team Dublin Clean-Up invites residents, community groups, schools, businesses, and environmental organisations to help improve and maintain their neighbourhoods. Dublin City Council provides all required clean-up equipment in advance, free of charge, and all bags will be collected by the Council on the day. Waste Management Services will also coordinate the safe collection and disposal of all litter gathered during the event.

Event organisers Sinéad Mooney and Aideen O’Brien, Litter Management Office, Dublin City Council encouraged people citywide to get involved, saying, “We encourage everyone to take part in this year’s Team Dublin Clean-Up. Groups across the city make huge efforts throughout the year to keep their areas clean, attractive and beautiful places to live and visit. This annual event is an opportunity to coordinate these efforts on one day and showcase the fantastic work being carried out across Dublin. If we each do a little, we will achieve a lot. Ní neart go cur le chéile.”

All participating groups will be automatically entered into the Dublin City Neighbourhoods Competition, with a chance to win €1,000 for their community.

The Team Dublin Clean-Up Day forms part of An Taisce’s National Spring Clean 2026, Ireland’s largest and most widely supported anti-litter initiative, encouraging community participation and environmental responsibility across the country.
