City Council Waste Management Services – Update

The Mobility and Public Realm Strategic Policy Committee, of which I am a member, was provided with the below presentation detailing further changes to the delivery of Waste Management services across the city, earlier this month.

In response to the presentation, I asked specific questions relating to:

  1. How will residential communities, like those that I represent across the North Inner City, see an improvement in the level of cleanliness in their neighbourhoods over the next twelve months as a result of the changes being made?
  2. What is the status of the Litter Management Plan and associated Street Cleaning schedule? What is the timeline for the completion of the review and the adoption of a new Plan by City Councillors?
  3. What specific measures are envisaged as part of the Council’s Anti-Dumping initiatives?
  4. As part of the Council’s plan to encourage businesses to clean up outside their premises, could we look at insisting that a timesheet similar to those employed by the hospitality sector for hourly sanitary facility checks be adopted?
  5. How does the City Council envisages tackling the problem of horse fouling in residential communities, especially Stoneybatter and Arbour Hill, for example?

If you have any questions or queries about the details contained in the presentation, please email me at RayMcAdam@gmail.com.
