Register your interest in buying an affordable home in the O’Devaney Gardens redevelopment

Today, officials from the Housing Department of Dublin City Council shared details with myself and members of the Housing Strategic Policy Committee about the process for Dubliners purchase affordable homes as part of the O’Devaney Gardens redevelopment.
The first homes on the site of the former O’Devaney Gardens complex will be delivered in phases starting in February 2026 with completion of the entire development currently scheduled for Quarter 1 2028.
I am happy to announce that Phase 1, consisting of 379 homes, will open for expressions of interest after Easter with the first homes to be ready for occupation in February 2026.
The first tranche of Affordable Purchase homes in Phase 1 of the development consists of 165 homes in a mix of No one, two and three-bedroomed apartments and three bedroom houses . The first of the affordable purchase homes will be ready for occupation in February 2026, comprising 44 one-bed and 22 two-bed apartments, with the next release of 99 homes (including three bedroom houses) available in October 2026.
In Phase 2 , there are a further 68 affordable purchase homes coming on stream in March 2027 with completions in December 2027.
The prices of the first Affordable Purchase homes are outlined in the presentation attached below. If you would like more specific information, please email me directly and I will make sure that information is sent to you straight away.
Buyers can register their interest in the affordable purchase homes after Easter with an information website and open days where prospective purchasers can view sample homes, allowing time to secure mortgage approval in principle and prepare relevant documents for the formal application process. The DCC affordable purchase portal is expected to open in June for the formal application submissions.
Applications for the Affordable Purchase homes will only be accepted via our online application portal – https://affordablehomes.dublincity.ie/. Interested applicants should register for an account ahead of the opening date and familiarise themselves with our Frequently Asked Questions (https://www.dublincity.ie/residential/housing/affordable-housing-initiatives/local-authority-affordable-purchase-scheme-laap) and the documentation checklist that will be required by Dublin City Council on application is available here – https://www.dublincity.ie/sites/default/files/2024-05/documentation-checklist.pdf. There is a useful eligibility indicator here – https://affordablehomes.ie/buy/eligibility-indicator/.
