New community facility for Dublin 7

In late May, Dublin City Council circulated details of draft plans to re-develop the Former Isolation Hospital on Infirmary Road for community uses.
This follows on from a commitment I helped secure from Dublin City Council almost seven years that this site would be developed as a community hub serving the communities of Montpelier, Stoneybatter, Arbour Hill and Infirmary Road.
Below is a copy of the planning report presented to Councillors at our July meeting.
I would welcome your thoughts and views on the project, as it currently stands and what you would like to change about it. Please email me at RayMcAdam@gmail.com with your feedback and observations.

Ray I looked at the Bricins Hospital but maybe I’m missing something , is it to eventually be a community centre, and if so I would hope properly run and not a place fit young people to just come and congregate and cause havoc, but with proper activities which will encourage them to have another interest apart from joy riding and terrorising the neighbourhood, Well done on all you for for the area ,Olive Johnson

Olive, thanks for the message. Its not Bricin’s that’s been proposed for the community facility, it is the former Isolation Hospital, which is beside Montpelier Gardens. Agree entirely on your point about managing the facility and what should be run there. Best, Ray
