East Coast Trail Works

Traffic Management Changes to take affect along East Wall Road.

Dublin City Council is proceeding with construction work for the East Coast Trail that will provide segregated cycling facilities and improved pedestrian facilities along a 1km route that extends from the entrance to the Eastpoint Business Park on Alfie Byrne Road, along Alfie Byrne Road and East Wall Road as far as East Road.

From today, some of the works involved will result in permanent lane closures.

Today, works started on the islands at the corner of the East Wall Rd and Alfie Byrne Road Junction – This will see the full left hand lane from East point Business Park to the East Wall Rd junction Closed.

From tomorrow – the remaining left hand lane from the Alfie Byrne Road / East Wall Road junction to Church Road will be closed to facilitate the construction of the new traffic islands at the Church Road Junction.

I am advised that these works will continue until mid-February.

However, it is important to reiterate that following completion of these works, the left lane will be closed permanently from East Point Business Park along Alfie Byrne Road and East Wall Rd through the Church Road and East Road junctions up as far as St Joseph’s School to facilitate the new cycleway.

If you have any specific questions or queries about these works and the information outlined above, please get in touch with me by WhatsApp or Email.
