Dorset Street redevelopment
City Council anticipates works starting by May 2024!

In response to questioning by me this evening, the Chief Executive indicated that he anticipates a contractor to begin works on the Dorset Street redevelopment by May of this year.
Dublin City Council has received Stage 3 funding and budget approval from the Government and are advancing the tender process to select a contractor to undertake the demolition and construction work.
The main contract includes for the full demolition of the current estate and the construction of 163 new homes. These homes will be a mix of:
- 65x 1 bedrooms
- 77x 2 bedrooms
- 21x 3 bedrooms
Alongside the new housing, a multi-use community space (crèche/karate/community facility), a boxing club, a commercial unit and a café space will be provided.
