What’s happening with Prussia Street’s Park Shopping Centre redevelopment?

Many Stoneybatter residents and indeed Tesco employees have been in touch with me in recent weeks regarding the status of the planned redevelopment of the Park Shopping Centre site. These queries arise from the fact that planning permission that was granted for the site by Dublin City Council and subsequently An Bord Pleanala.
Therefore, I have been in contact with the owners of the site to secure an update on whether the new student development scheme, Tesco store, and additional retail on the ground floor will be built. As a result of my contact with the Development Group overseeing this project, I can confirm that new planning permission is likely to be sought from Dublin City Council. I understand, that discussions are ongoing with the various businesses and commercial entities located within the Park Shopping Centre. Following a successful conclusion of these discussions, a planning application could be lodged with the Council in the early months of 2021.
Be assured that when further information is available to me, I will share those details locally to keep you and our neighbourhood updated.
